Scandicana about love, breakup and a life on the road. The Chickpeas Band from Piteå in northern Sweden is a new element in a transatlantic tradition of storytellers, romantic & melancholic nomads.
The Chickpeas Band was founded by Lina Larsdotter, Elin Grunditz and Ida Nilsson. They come from different parts of Sweden, met at Luleå Technical University and began playing together in the spring of 2010. They were quickly noticed for their harmonies and charismatic stage show and soon got many gig requests. In march 2012 Emil Kårén joined on drums and percussion, and in may of the same year they released their self-titled debut EP.
The Chickpeas band have done two tours through Sweden with train - during the summers of 2012 and 2013. They played in towns along the way - and also for many travelers in the bistro carts on the train. Altogether they made more than 50 gigs in 30 days. The band has released two EP:s and five singles.
During 2016-17 families have grown and new songs have been written. In the summer of 2018 the Chickpeas band will have a few concerts in Sweden and release their first full length album.
